Board of Education Meeting
Monday, November 19, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.
Community Room of the High School Building
 
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018.
 
1. Call to order
Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
 
2. Roll call of members
 
Present: Bailey, Brickl, Criter, Koenigs, Lisowe
Also Present: Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Amanda Potratz, Mrs. Lori Muench, Mr. Matt Kiel,
Mrs. Dawn Bartel and Miss Kaitlin Merwin.
 
Absent: Mr. Ty Breitlow and Mrs. Pam Schuster.
 
3. Verification of notice pursuant to s.19.84(1)(3) Wis. Stats.
Notices were properly posted.
 
4. Pledge of Allegiance
 
5. Delegations: This is the time for any person attending the meeting as an observer to
express a particular comment or concern.
 
-Spotlight on Learning - Middle School Students/Staff.
-Acceptance of the following Gift(s) to the District:
-$500.00 Donation from Todd and Lisa Wollersheim to the Football Activity Fund.
-$500.00 Donation from Run Tall Fund for Suicide Prevention.

Spotlight on Learning - Middle School Students/Staff:

The Chilton Middle School students and staff presented Spotlight on Learning.

Acceptance of the following Gift(s) to the District:

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to approve the
following donations to the school district:

-$500.00 Donation from Todd and Lisa Wollersheim to the Football Activity Fund.
-$500.00 Donation from Run Tall Fund for Suicide Prevention.

All ayes, motion carried.

6. Consent Items: (Board members may remove consent items on the agenda for
discussion and/or separate action.)

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to approve the
following consent agenda items:

Approval of minutes from previous board meetings, to include committee meetings.
Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #210846 - #211014 and ACH
#181900197 - #181900312. The November receipts were $99,108.01. The November
disbursements including payroll were $1,153,699.24.

Recommendation for Hire:
-Brittany Wiesner, Registrar/Administrative Assistant
-David Sonnabend, Swim Coach

All ayes, motion carried.

-The WASB State Convention will be held in Milwaukee from January 23 - 25, 2019.
Early Bird Registration Deadline is December 14, 2018. Please let Dawn Bartel know if
you plan to attend.

-School Board Elections - The deadline for filing Notification of Non-Candidacy is
December 21, 2018, and the deadline for filing Declaration of Candidacy and
Campaign Registration Statement is January 2, 2019.
*Please be aware that school offices will be closed for the holiday on December 24, 25,
31, 2018 and January 1, 2019. All school offices may be closed on December 26, 27,
and 28, 2018.

-Second Reading of Volume 27 - No. 2 and Policy 0155 - Committees

Co-Curricular Committee Report:

-The Board will be asked to approve a Trap Shooting Club, and rename the current
Fishing Club and the approved Trap Shooting Club to: Chilton Conservation Club.

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to approve a Trap

8. New Business

A. Student Board Representative Report - Miss Kaitlin Merwin, Student Council Board
of Education Representative, will provide an update to the Board on current student
topics.

B. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING WAIVING TIME LIMIT FOR PETITION TO DETACH
SMALL TERRITORY - The Board of Education will be asked to review a Resolution
Waiving the Time Limit to Detach Small Territory.

There was a motion by Mr. Randy Lisowe, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve
a Resolution Authorizing Waiving Time Limit for Petition to Detach Small Territory. Upon
a roll call vote: Lisowe-aye, Criter-aye, Brickl-aye, Bailey-aye, and Koenigs-aye. All
ayes, motion carried.

9. Administrative Reports - The following administrators will provide administrative
updates on their areas of responsibility:

10. Convene into closed session pursuant to State Stat. 19.85(1)(c) & (f) to discuss the
Superintendent's performance evaluation and specific personnel.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to convene into closed
session to discuss the Superintendent's performance evaluation and specific personnel.
Upon a roll call vote: Lisowe-aye, Criter-aye, Brickl-aye, Bailey-aye, and Koenigs-aye. All
ayes, motion carried.

11. Reconvene into open session to take action on matters discussed in closed session
if necessary and appropriate.

12. Adjournment

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to adjourn the
meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
