Board of Education Meeting
Monday, December 17, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.
Community Room of the High School Building

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018.

1. Call to order

Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

2. Roll call of members

Present: Bailey, Brickl, Criter, Koenigs, Lisowe
Also Present: Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Amanda Portratz, Mrs. Pam Schuster, Mrs. Lori
Muench, Mr. Matt Kiel, Mr. Ty Breitlow, Mrs. Dawn Bartel, and Miss Jenna Chaussee.
Absent: Miss Kaitlin Merwin

3. Verification of notice pursuant to s.19.84(1)(3) Wis. Stats.

Notices were properly posted.

4. Pledge of Allegiance

5. Delegations: This is the time for any person attending the meeting as an observer to
express a particular comment or concern.

Presentation of the 2017-2018 Financial Audit - Mr. Kevin Behnke, Hawkins Ash CPAs,
will present the school district's financial audit.

-Acceptance of the following Gift(s) to the District:

-$454.00 from Worthington Cylinders to Metals Classes.

-$1,000.00 from Chilton Lions Club to Chilton Middle School Student Council Toys for
Teens.

-Whiteboard Tables from DonorsChoose.org to Chilton Middle School for Cooperative
Learning.

-As the recipient of the Brighter Image Award, Chilton High School also received
$500.00 from NEW Manufacturing Alliance.

Under delegations, Mr. Dan Holst, 217 Bonk Street, Chilton, WI, signed up to speak
regarding the Chilton Education Enhancement Fund.

Presentation of the 2017-2018 Financial Audit - Mr. Kevin Behnke, Hawkins Ash CPAs,
presented the school district's financial audit.

Acceptance of the gifts to the District - There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by
Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the following gifts to the District:

-$454.00 from Worthington Cylinders to Metals Classes.

-$1,000.00 from Chilton Lions Club to Chilton Middle School Student Council Toys for
Teens.

-Whiteboard Tables from DonorsChoose.org to Chilton Middle School for Cooperative
Learning.

-As the recipient of the Brighter Image Award, Chilton High School also received $500.00
from NEW Manufacturing Alliance.

All ayes, motion carried.

6. Consent Items: (Board members may remove consent items on the agenda for
discussion and/or separate action.)

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to approve the
following consent agenda items:

Approval of minutes from previous board meetings, to include committee meetings.
Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #211016 - #211089 and ACH
#181900313 - #181900384. The December receipts were $1,878,334.84. The December
disbursements including payroll were $2,329,875.84.

Recommendation for Hire:
-Kim Gosz, Housekeeping

All ayes, motion carried.

-The WASB State Convention will be held in Milwaukee from January 23 - 25, 2019.

-School Board Elections - The deadline for filing Notification of Non-Candidacy is
December 21, 2018, and the deadline for filing Declaration of Candidacy and
Campaign Registration Statement is January 2, 2019.

*Please be aware that school offices will be closed for the holiday on December 24, 25,
31, 2018 and January 1, 2019. All school offices may be closed on December 26, 27,
and 28, 2018.

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to dispense of
the formal reading of Volume 27-No. 2 and Policy 0155-Committees, and to approve the
third and final reading of Volume 27-No. 2 and Policy 0155-Committees. All Ayes, motion
carried.

Co-Curricular Committee Report: No report.

Buildings and Grounds Committee Report: No report.

Finance Committee Report: No Report.

8. New Business

A. Student Board Representative Report - Miss Jenna Chaussee, Student Council
Board of Education Representative, will provide an update to the Board on current
student topics.

On behalf of Miss Kaitlin Merwin, Student Council Board of Education Representative,
Miss Jenna Chaussee, Student Council, gave an update to the Board of Education on
current student topics.

B. Approval of 2019-2020 New Course Proposals for Chilton High School - Mr. Ty
Breitlow will present new course proposals for Chilton High School.

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve
New Course Proposals for 2019-2020. All ayes, motion carried.

C. Student Field Trip Approval - Advanced Outdoor Adventure Class - The Board will
be asked to approve the Advanced Outdoor Adventure Class to go to Devils Lake
State Park, Baraboo, WI from May 17 - May 19, 2019. A copy of the itinerary is
attached for your review.

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to approve
the Advanced Outdoor Adventure Class to go to Devils Lake State Park, Baraboo, WI
from May 17 - May 19, 2019. All ayes, motion carried.

D. Approval of School District Safety Plan - The Board will be asked to approve the
updated School Safety Plan.

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to approve the
School District Safety Plan. All ayes, motion carried.

9. Administrative Reports - The following administrators will provide administrative
