Board of Education Meeting
Monday, March 18, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.
Community Room of the High School Building

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019.

1. Call to order

Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order.

2. Roll call of members

Present: Bailey, Brickl, Criter, Koenigs, Lisowe
Also Present: Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Lori Muench, Mrs. Pam Schuster, Mr. Ty Breitlow,
Mr. Matt Kiel, Mrs. Dawn Bartel and Miss Jenna Chaussee
Absent: Mrs. Samantha Woelfel

3. Verification of notice pursuant to s.19.84(1)(3) Wis. Stats.

Notices were properly posted.

4. Pledge of Allegiance

5. Delegations: This is the time for any person attending the meeting as an observer to
express a particular comment or concern.

-Spotlight on Learning - Elementary School Students/Staff.

-Acceptance of the following Gift(s) to the District:

-Donation - Chilton Middle School Students who raise and lower the flag received
$500.00 from Chilton Optimist Club.
-Donation - Chilton Conservation Club received $250.00 from Calumet County
Conservation Alliance and $500.00 from EastWisconsinShotgunSports.org.
-Donation - DonorsChoose Project, Spheros for Technology Classes and Coding &
Creators Clubs received Sphero STEM Kit from Civil Air Patrol.

Spotlight on Learning - Elementary School Students/Staff:

A presentation was provided showcasing Elementary School Students/Staff.

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to approve the
following donations:

-Donation - Chilton Middle School Students who raise and lower the flag received $500.00
from Chilton Optimist Club.
-Donation - Chilton Conservation Club received $250.00 from Calumet County
Conservation Alliance and $500.00 from EastWisconsinShotgunSports.org.
-Donation - DonorsChoose Project, Spheros for Technology Classes and Coding &
Creators Clubs received Sphero STEM Kit from Civil Air Patrol.
All ayes, motion carried.

6. Consent Items: (Board members may remove consent items on the agenda for
discussion and/or separate action.)

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to approve the
following consent agenda items:

Approval of minutes from previous board meetings, to include committee meetings.
Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #190301-19022885 and ACH
#181900548-#181900603. The March receipts were $2,546,323.24. The March
disbursements including payroll were $3,210,834.11.

Recommendation for Hire:

-Brian Schmitz, Girls JV Softball Coach
-Keith Schmitz, Assistant Varsity Girls Softball Coach

Recommendation for Resignation:

A. President's Report - The Board President will update the Board on various topics.
Mr. Randy Lisowe thanked Mr. Corey Brickl for his service on the Board of Education.

B. Student Board Representative Report - Miss Jenna Chaussee, Student Council
Board of Education Representative, will provide an update to the Board on current
student topics.

C. Standard Based Learning Presentation - Mr. Ty Breitlow will provide an update to
the Board of Education on Standards Based Learning.

-The Buildings and Grounds Committee met on March 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
Finance Committee Report:

-The next Finance Committee meetings will be held on March 27 at 5:00 p.m. and
April 8 at 5:00 p.m.

Policy Committee - No report.

Co-Curricular Committee - No report.

Buildings and Grounds Committee - The Buildings and Grounds Committee met on
March 12 at 6:00 p.m.

Finance Committee - The Finance Committee will meet on March 27 at 5:00 p.m. and
April 8 at 5:00 p.m.

8. New Business

A. Chilton Boys Baseball Trip - March 29 and 30, 2019 in Champaign, Illinois. The
Board will be asked to approve the Chilton Boys Baseball trip to Champaign, Illinois.

A copy of the itinerary is attached for your review.

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve
the Chilton Boys Baseball Trip from March 29 - 30, 2019 in Champaign, Illinois. All ayes,
motion carried.

B. Chilton Middle School Washington DC Trip - The Board of Education will be asked
to approve an out-of-state field trip for eighth grade students to attend in May, 2020.

An itinerary will be provided for the Board to review at the October, 2019 Board of
Education meeting.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve
Chilton Middle School eighth grade students to attend Washington DC in April, 2020. All
ayes, motion carried.

C. Bid Approval for Food Service Vendor - The Board of Education will be asked to
approve Gordon Food Service as the primary vendor for the 2019-2020 school year.

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to approve Gordon
Food Service as the primary vendor for the 2019-2020 school year. All ayes, motion
carried.

9. Administrative Reports - The following administrators will provide administrative
updates on their areas of responsibility:

10. Convene into closed session pursuant to State Statute 19.85(1)(f) to discuss specific
personnel.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to convene into closed
session. Upon a roll call vote: Lisowe-aye, Criter-aye, Brickl-aye, Bailey-aye and Koenigsaye.
Motion carried.

11. Reconvene into open session to take action on matters discussed in closed session
if necessary and appropriate.

12. Adjournment

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to adjourn the
meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
