Since the passing of the Referendum in April 2022 planning has been taking place, a visual concept of both the interior and exterior of the Elementary has been developed. This plan/concept is the result of multiple meetings including staff, administration, community and Hoffman Group.
Planning for the Sports Complex has also been underway, with a group including: teachers, community members, Rettler Group and administrators. The visual concept continues to develop to include placement of field events as well as coloring for the field.
THANK YOU for your continued support as we plan for our Students’ Future.

Mrs. Sue Salzsieder, District Librarian, is excited and proud to host the grand opening of the Playground StoryWalk® located at Chilton Elementary School on December 21, 2021, 8:30AM at 421 Court ST, Chilton, WI 53014.
District Librarian Sue Salzsieder and the Chilton Public Library’s Glenny Whitcomb and Rebbecca Barry collaborated to write a successful 2021 AARP Community Challenge Grant to bring permanent StoryWalk®s to the Chilton Elementary School playground and Ledge View Nature Center. Pop-up StoryWalk®s will also appear at various parks and events throughout Calumet County. This project was one of six awarded in the state of Wisconsin in 2021. https://www.aarp.org/livable-communities/community-challenge/ Our StoryWalk® project focuses on bilingual Spanish/English books in order to build diversity appreciation while encouraging a lifelong love of reading and the great outdoors.
A StoryWalk® is a fun, educational activity that displays a children’s picture book at stations along a popular walking route in the community. Typically, pages from a children’s book are installed along a path. As you stroll along the path, you are directed to the next page in the story. StoryWalk® was first developed by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT. It was conceived as a way to inspire parents, teachers, and caregivers to take children out of doors for physical activity and to learn. StoryWalk®s help build children’s interest in reading while encouraging healthy activity for both adults and children - a perfect intergenerational activity. Stories will be changed four times per year.
