Job Title: Full-Time School Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Full-Time Maintenance Technician at Chilton Public Schools. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our school facilities.

Position Details:

Start Date: As soon as possible

Term: Year-Round

Wage: $20.00 hourly starting

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Routine Maintenance:
  • Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance on school buildings, equipment, and systems.
  • Address and resolve issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other essential systems.

  1. Repairs and Troubleshooting:
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address issues efficiently.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural problems.
  • Collaborate with school staff to understand and prioritize maintenance needs.
  1. Groundskeeping:
  • Maintain the school grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and outdoor equipment.
  • Ensure a safe and clean outdoor environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  1. Project Support:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance projects.
  • Collaborate with contractors and other vendors as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and project details.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Report any safety hazards and work towards their resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in building maintenance, with a focus on schools or similar facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction principles.
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and prolonged periods of standing.

Education and Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintenance experience preferred but not required
