Board of Education Meeting
Monday, April 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Commons Area in the High School Building
The Chilton Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the
Commons Area located in the Chilton High School building.
Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll call of Members:
Present: Mr. Randy Lisowe, Mr. Terry Criter, Mr. Dave Bailey, Mrs. Donna Koenigs and Mrs. Maria
Also Present: Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Pam Schuster, Mrs. Lori Muench, Mr. Shawn Rude, Mr. Matt
Kiel, Mrs. Samantha Woelfel, Mrs. Dawn Bartel and Miss Breanna Bowe.
Notices were properly posted.
Under delegations, the following community members signed up to speak:
Katrina Gerner, W3179 Quinney Road, Chilton. Topic: Teachers and students rights.
Heather Turba, 707 S. Military Road, Chilton. Topic: May speak about mask requirement.
Betty Schilling, 228 N. State Street, Chilton. Topic: Press.
There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Maria Halbach to approve the following
-DVO - $1,000.00 of Materials to Chilton High School Metals Shop for equipment.
-Allen & Karen Schuette Heritage Fund - $1,460.00 to Scholastic Summer Reading Program.
-Weber Oil Gas Pump – $568.68 for the Months of December, January, February and March to Chilton School
-Kohler – Sixteen (16) Engines – Valued at $2,185.00 to Chilton High School Tech. Education.
-Donations to Chilton High School Football Trailer -
*Auto Source, Chilton – Labor installing and rewiring inside lighting and electrical inverter – value
*Brantmeier Electric, Chilton – Electrical parts for inside wiring – value $125.00, and
*Schiek’s Camping Center, Fond du Lac – Discount on parts for trailer stabilizer and trailer brakes - $68.09.
All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the following
Consent Agenda items: Approval of minutes from previous board meetings to include committee
meetings. Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #213238 - 213416 and
ACH #202000416 - #202100545. The April receipts were $382,066.59. The April disbursements
including payroll were $1,159,639.32.
Recommendation for Hire:
-Maya Krebsbach, Special Education Paraprofessional
-Stephanie Radant, Special Education Paraprofessional
Approval of Teacher Contract Renewals – 2021-2022.
All ayes, motion carried.
President’s Report: No report.
Student Board Representative Report: Miss Breanna Bowe, Student Council Board of Education
Representative, provided an update to the Board of Education on current student topics.
Board of Education Committee Reports:
Finance Committee: The Finance Committee met on March 29 at 5:30 p.m., April 12 at 5:30 p.m. and
April 19 at 5:30 p.m.
Education Committee: The Education Committee met on April 12 at 4:45 pm.
There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the following:
Reduce High School Social Studies Credit from 4 to 3 for all classes beyond 2021 and Earn .5 High School
Credit at Middle School starting 2021-2022. All ayes, motion carried.
Policy Committee: The Policy Committee met on April 14 at 4:00 p.m.
The committee reviewed Policies Volume 29.1 and Volume 29.2. These policies will be brought to
the May 17th Board of Education for first reading.
Buildings and Grounds Committee: No report.
Co-Curricular Committee: No report.
Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, gave an update on mitigation practices.
There was a motion by Mrs. Maria Halbach, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to approve a 66.03 Agreement with
Rural Virtual Academy. All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to approve the 2021-2022 School
Calendar. All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve a 1.0 FTE
Interventionist at the Middle School and a .5 FTE Interventionist at the Elementary School. All ayes, motion
Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, gave an update on the high school musical.
Mr. Shawn Rude, High School Principal, gave an update on student performance.
Mr. Matt Kiel, Middle School Principal, gave an update on student performance.
Mrs. Pam Schuster, Elementary School Principal, gave an update on student performance.
Mrs. Lori Muench, Director of Pupil Services, gave an update on student performance.
There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Maria Halbach to adjourn the meeting. All
ayes, motion carried.
