Board of Education Meeting
Monday, July 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Community Room - High School Building
The Chilton Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, July19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the High School Building.
Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll call of Members:
Present: Mr. Randy Lisowe, Mr. Terry Criter, Mr. Dave Bailey, Mrs. Maria Halbach and Mrs. Donna Koenigs.
Also Present: Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Lori Muench, Mrs. Pam Schuster, Mr. Shawn Rude, Mrs. Samantha Woelfel and Mrs. Dawn Bartel.
Excused Absence: Mr. Matt Kiel.
Notices were properly posted.
There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Maria Halbach, to approve the following donations:
-Weber Oil – Gas Pump $182.76 to Chilton School District – Month of May
All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the following Consent Agenda items: Approval of minutes from previous board meetings to include committee meetings. Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #215380 –#213635 and ACH #212200001- #212200041. The July receipts were $354,621.37. The July disbursements including payroll were $1,211,621.63.
Recommendation for Hire:
-Jane Mingari, English Language Learner

Board of Education Committee Reports:
Finance Committee: The Finance Committee met on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
Policy Committee Report – The Policy Committee presented the third and final reading of Volume 29.1 and Volume 29.2.
There was a motion by Mrs. Maria Halbach, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to dispense of the formal reading and approve the third and final reading of Volume 29.1 and Volume 29.2. All ayes, motion carried.
Buildings and Grounds Committee Report – No report.
Education Committee: No report.
Co-Curricular Committee Report – No report.
There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the Preliminary 2021-2022 School District Budget Report. All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to approve Resolution No. 2021-2. A Resolution Authorizing Participation in the Calumet County Special Education Programs per State Statute 11.5817(9)(b) & (c). All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to approve Resolution
No. 2021-3. Resolution to approve the list and description of the 2021-2022 Student Academic Standards in the areas of mathematics, science, reading and writing, geography and history as shown in Attachment A, with a date of July 19, 2021, and with said Academic Standards constituting the Board-adopted standards that are required under section 118.30(1g)(a) of the state statutes.
Move to direct and authorize the administration to take any necessary actions to incorporate the Board-approved list and description of the 2021-2022 Student Academic Standards and to issue a notice for parents/guardians that is consistent with the requirements of section 120.12(13) of the state statutes. All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mrs. Maria Halbach, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the Teacher and Support Staff Handbooks. All ayes, motion carried.
There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mrs. Maria Halbach to approve Elementary, Middle and High School Student Handbooks. All ayes, motion carried.
Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, gave an update on the 2021-2022 School Year.
Mrs. Lori Muench, Director of Pupil Services, gave the Seclusion and Physical Restraint Report for 2020-2021.
There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to adjourn the meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
