Board of Education Meeting

Monday, September 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

Commons Area of the High School Building

 

The Chilton Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commons Area of the High School Building. 

Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll call of Members: 

Present:  Mr. Randy Lisowe, Mr. Terry Criter, Mr. Dave Bailey, and Mrs. Donna Koenigs.

Excused:  Mrs. Maria Halbach.

Also Present:  Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Pam Schuster, Mr. Shawn Rude, Mrs. Samantha Woelfel,  Mrs. Dawn Bartel and Mr. Hayden Bailey.

Excused:  Mrs. Lori Muench and Mr. Matt Kiel.

Notices were properly posted.

Under delegations, the following community member(s) signed up to speak:

 -Linda Hoerth, 625 Graves Street, Chilton – Grant for books in classroom libraries.

Introduction of new staff took place.

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey, to approve the following donations: Farm & Home $100.00 – 500 Paint Sticks, Barbara N. Gault Fund of Thrivent Charitable Impact & Investing - $1,242.05, Weber Oil – Gas Pump $193.13 to Chilton School District – Month of July, $778.39 from St. Anna & Kiel Veterinary Clinics on behalf of the Zoetis Rebate Program to Chilton FFA, and Rachel Disher - $750.00 Grant - to be used for Books in Classroom Libraries.  All ayes, motion carried.

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the following Consent Agenda items:  Approval of minutes from previous board meetings to include committee meetings.  Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #213693 – #213795 and ACH #212200074- #212200172.  The September receipts were $1,151,595.40.  The September disbursements including payroll were $1,103,677.21.

Recommendation for Hire:  Eva Rodriquez, Special Education Paraprofessional, Kelly Propson, Nutrition Team Worker, Alicia Baier, Nutrition Team Worker, Jayne Young, Nutrition Team Worker, Andrew Deehr, High School Football Coach, and Isaiah Rosedahl, Housekeeping.  All ayes, motion carried.

Recommendation for Resignation – For Information Only – No Action Required:

Abigail Rieth, Special Education Paraprofessional. 

CESA 7 Employees - For Information Only - No Action Required:

Recommendation for Hire:  Gabrielle Schaetzer, Special Education Paraprofessional, Alexis Holland, Special Education Paraprofessional, Ashley Volkman, Special Education Paraprofessional, and Lisa Hopwood, EBD Teacher.

Recommendation for Resignation:  Emma Somppi, Special Education Paraprofessional and Sarah Otradovec, Special Education Paraprofessional.

President’s Report:

Mr. Randy Lisowe discussed Board Development.

Board of Education Committee Reports: 

Finance Committee - The Finance Committee met on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.

Policy Committee Report – No report.

Buildings and Grounds Committee Report – No report.

Education Committee: No report.

Co-Curricular Committee Report – No report.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to approve the 2021-2022 Budget as presented at the Budget Hearing.  All ayes, motion carried.

Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, gave an update on mitigation practices.

Mr. Hayden Bailey, Student Council Board of Education Representative, provided an update to the Board on current student topics.

Administrative Reports:  

Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, gave an update on the facility study.

Mr. Shawn Rude, High School Principal, gave an update on the high school.

Mrs. Pam Schuster, Elementary School Principal, gave an update on the elementary school. 

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to adjourn the meeting.  All ayes, motion carried.
