Board of Education Meeting
Monday, March 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
Community Room of the High School Building

The Chilton Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the High School Building.

Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll call of Members:

Present: Mr. Randy Lisowe, Mr. Terry Criter, Mr. Dave Bailey, Mrs. Donna Koenigs and Mrs. Maria Halbach.

Also Present: Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Samantha Woelfel, Mr. Shawn Rude, Mrs. Pam Schuster, Mrs. Lori Muench, Mr. Matt Kiel, Mrs. Dawn Bartel and Mr. Hayden Bailey.

Notices were properly posted.

There was a motion by Mrs. Maria Halbach, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter, to approve the following donations: Weber Oil Gas Pump - $169.79 to Chilton School District – Month of January and Safety Glasses from Alexander Gruber. All ayes, motion carried.

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to approve the following Consent Agenda items: Approval of minutes from previous board meetings to include committee meetings. Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #214196 - #214256 and ACH #212200566 - #212200622. The March receipts were $3,156,002.50. The March disbursements including payroll were $2,988,815.65.

Personnel Approvals: Recommendation for Hire: David Schmitt, High School Assistant Track Coach and Stacy Schneider, Weight Room Supervisor.

Recommendation for Retirement: Sallie Peik, Learning Disabilities Teacher, Rocky Gozdziewski, Physical Education Teacher, Elizabeth Kaziak, 4K Teacher, Sara Vander Pas, Learning Disabilities Teacher, and Cheryl Kolbe, Paraprofessional. All ayes, motion carried.

Recommendation for Hire – CESA 7 - For Information Only – No Action Required: Brandy Fliss, Paraprofessional.

President’s Report: Reminder: The April Board of Education meeting will be held on April 25, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room.

Mr. Hayden Bailey, Student Council Board of Education Representative, gave an update to the Board on current student topics.

Board of Education Committee Reports:

Finance Committee - The Finance Committee met on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
Policy Committee Report – No report.
Buildings and Grounds Committee Report – No report.
Education Committee: No report.
Co-Curricular Committee Report – No report.

Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, informed the Board that the school district will continue to partnership with Rural Virtual Academy (RVA).

Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, gave an update on mitigation practices.

Administrative Reports:

Mrs. Pam Schuster, Elementary School Principal, provided an update regarding the elementary school.

Mrs. Lori Muench, Director of Pupil Services, gave a pupil services update.

Mr. Matt Kiel, Middle School Principal, provided an update regarding the middle school and a presentation was given by middle school students regarding the Kindness Committee.

Mr. Shawn Rude, High School Principal, gave an update regarding the high school.

Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Superintendent, recognized Mr. Randy Lisowe for his 20 years of service to the Board of Education and gave an update regarding the referendum.

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to convene into closed session to discuss specific personnel. Lisowe-aye, Criter-aye, Bailey-aye, Koenigs-aye, and Halbach-aye. All ayes, motion carried.

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to reconvene into open session.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to increase base wage on salary schedule by $750.00, after CPI adjustment, beginning with the 2022-2023 school year. All ayes, motion carried.

There was a motion by Mrs. Maria Halbach, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to adjourn the meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
